Hotel InterContinental
AED project, in cooperation with TaK Architects, participates in the unique reconstruction of the InterContinental Hotel. The hotel represents one of the purest examples of brutalist architecture in our country.
The result of the hotel's reconstruction is almost invisible to the viewer, but new constructions have been added and the outer will be also completely replaced. The changes do not only concern the hotel, but also the immediate surroundings. A new city street will be created, lined with an alley on one side and a commercial area on the other. The space will end with a piazzetta that descends to the level of the Vltava embankment. A new space accessible to the public is being created on the site of the pool and areas currently designated exclusively for hotel guests.
